Delhi VAT Amnesty Scheme extended from 31st January, 2014 to 18th February, 2014

DVAT Amnesty Scheme which was aimed at encouraging both registered and unregistered dealers to voluntarily disclose their outstanding tax dues from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2013 but not paid or partly paid till the August 31, 2013 without interest, penalty and other proceedings is available till 18th February 2014 (earlier it was 31st January 2014)

Default DVAT Assessment order for the first, second and third Quarters of 2013-14

Department of Trade and Taxes will frame the assessment of all registered dealers for the first, second and third Quarters of 2013-14 tax-periods on the basis of mismatch in the online data (i.e. for the first and second as on 15/02/2014 and for third quarter as on 28/02/2014) filed by the dealers in Annexure 2A and 2B of their return.

Extension for filing of Audit Report in Form AR 1

Department of Trade and Taxes has re-extended the date for filing of Annual Audit report in Form AR- 1  which is mandatory to be filed by the dealers having turnover of Rs. 10 crores or more in FY 2011-12 or FY2012-13 from 31st Jan ,2014 to 28th Feb, 2014.

Revision of Threshold Limit for Mandatory E–Payment of Service Tax

As per Rule 6(2) of Service Tax Rules, 1994 person who has paid Service Tax (Challan + CENVAT) amounting to Rs.10 Lakhs or more, in preceding F.Y., shall pay the tax electronically; however with effect from 1st January, 2014 the monetary limit has been reduced to Rs. 1 Lakh vide Notification No. 16/2013-ST dated November 22, 2013. Therefore, service provider who has paid service tax amounting to Rs. 1 Lakh or more in F.Y. 2012-2013 is required to pay service tax liability for the month of December, 2013 or quarter ending December, 2013 electronically.
